I believe this is the most successful image I took for the Dozen Photo Challenge. Over the break, I went on vacation to the tropical island of the Dominican Republic and thought the sunrise would be an amazing opportunity to capture some photos and boy was I right. I believe this was the most successful photo due to the great back lighting the sun gives with the clouds blocking most of the light from coming through. You can tell the sun is beaming against the clouds and gives light to the cloud's reflections in the water, but the light does not over power the photo because of the clouds blocking the light source. Overall, it is a beautiful picture of the sunrise on a tropical island.
The most challenging aspect of this assignment for me was identifying times in which photo opportunities were at their best. Specifically, I had trouble identifying when the color schematics of different photos could be applied. Going forward, I will continue to grow my color recognition skills to be able to identify when photographic opportunities are at their highest.
Part 2:
This is an amazing photograph. The lighting of the bright flames in contrast with the dark wintery background really brings this photo to life. It makes me want to sit right next to that fire and toast marshmallows. I like how the flame is really captured in mid action as you can really see the ashes flying off the top of the flame.
Hi Jake! I like how the colors in the photo popped out and how my eyes automatically shifted to the main focus which was the moon, if I am correct. I like how 1/3 of the photo has brightness while 2/3 of the photo has mostly shadows but the shadows wasn't too much. I also like that the photo was also showing movement with the trees on the right so I can infer that it may have been a windy day. https://creativediamond345.wixsite.com/michaellad-tabbi/blog
